What is the history and popularity of the app?

Draftboard is a division of Design Vetica Interactive. There is very little information available about the history, development, or traffic on the site. Mashable reports that it was developed by two Canadian teenagers.

What are the differences to other apps?

Draftboard makes it easier for clients and designers to see revisions and annotate designs and track changes. The ability to add links is very useful as clients may like elements of other sites and want to incorporate similar pieces into their designs.

How does the web app look and feel to use?

The application has a nice, simple interface. It is uncluttered and easy to use. Uploads are fast and easy. To-Do list is easily modified, though it does not clearly state that checking an item will cross it out. It may be unchecked, but it would be nice to have some direction there. There is also no notification of successful addition of links. Notification would also be a welcome addition.

Overall, the site works well. There are some small issues that could use some work – like centering descriptions on the buttons and tweaking instructions for use – but its ease of use and uncluttered dashboard make this a nice workspace for designers.

How does the registration process work?

Registration requires a company name, subdomain for email purposes, full name, email address, user name, password, and time zone. Paid plans require credit card information. PayPal is not supported at this time. A confirmation email with activation link arrived in approximately ten minutes during review. The link leads to a login screen.

What does it cost to use the application?

There are several plans, targeted to a variety of users. The free plan, with 1GB of storage and one project requires no credit card to use. The Freelancer plan is $12/month with unlimited projects, 5GB of storage, one user, and unlimited clients. The Studio plan is $24/month and includes 10 projects, 15GB storage, unlimited users, and unlimited clients. The Agency plan is priced at $49 per month and includes 25 projects, 35 GB storage, unlimited users and unlimited clients. The Corporate plan, at $99 per month, includes unlimited projects, 80GB storage, unlimited users and unlimited clients. Each plan includes enhanced security. A free 30 trial is offered and must be cancelled within the 30 days or user will be billed for the next month. The service is pay-as-you-go and there are no monthly contracts. Users must cancel service or it will be billed to the credit card on file.
